About Me

I am so happy to get to know you! Here is a bit about me. I hold a master's degree in Urban Education and Counseling from one of the area's most prestigious historically black universities, Norfolk State University. My undergraduate degrees are in Fine Arts and Anthropology (Wake Forest University and University of Arizona, respectively). Currently, I sit on the board of PFLAG Hampton Roads, and I am a relentless advocate for the rights of individuals on the LGBTQIA2S+ spectrum. I also volunteer for the Transgender Assistance Program of Virginia (TAPVA) and Humanities Behind Bars.

I am an active member of a Druidic Counsel, based out of the UK, and within that group, I am a member of a grass roots international community of mental health providers who  incorporate Indigenous and mystical healing practices as integral components of holistic mental health care and wellness.

My background as a mental health provider in public education provides added benefits to my role as a Coach because I am adept at context. Young people navigate daily external challenges that often trigger or amplify internal issues. Embedded trauma and  dysfunctional mechanisms formed as responses to trauma  begin to surface or amplify as young people develop into mature human beings. I am a proponent for mental health awareness, education and staff training within schools, the local community and the global forum.

When I am not caring for my clients, you may see me hiking with my dogs, kayaking, playing tennis with my SO or riding my bike. I relish time in my art studio, creating, thinking, reading and researching. My cucina is an extension of my creativity. Concocting kombucha recipes and foraging for native mushrooms and other medicinal fauna is my passion.
